- At the waterpark this weekend, "Walk Like An Egyptian" came on the radio, and Rylan said, "AiryBob"...thank you Larry and Bob Sing the 80s!!
- Rylan has two new favorite questions:
- "Mom, wha ew say?" (Mom, what did you say)This question is posed anytime Rylan wants in on the conversation we are having. My tactic is to give him the most thorough, elaborate answer I can come up with, which will do one of two things....deter his frequent questioning (yeah right) or develop his vocabulary, listening skills, observation skills, etc.! :) He also poses this question when he heard exactly what you said, but somehow disagrees with the statement. When used in this manner, he accompanies the question with a cocked head and squinted eyes. He's basically saying, "Mom...you're crazy!!"
- "Mom, uh do now?" (Mom, what did you/he do now) Again, this is Ry's way of letting us know that he needs to be included in all decisions, updated on all happenings, and a part of everything that goes on around him!!
- Last night, on our way home, we picked up a chocolate shake and a strawberry shake to share between the 3 of us. I tried just letting Rylan take a couple of sips, but that didn't last long before he insisted on keeping one all to himself...the strawberry one. After a few minutes, I tried to trade with him. He responded with that cocked head, squinted eye, burrowed frow "your crazy" look, and said, "What?" and refused to put his hands on the chocolate one. I told Nick we were keeping the chocolate one after all. Nick called me a rookie, until he tried to give Rylan the chocolate shake and was met with the exact same response!! The kid is hilarious, I tell you!!
- It also cracks us up when Rylan grabs the good ole Heavenly Highway Hymnal and puts it under his arm like any old baptist preacher would do. He then marches off to the door saying, "I go church."
- We are just amazed everyday at the new words that he is attempting to say and at the new sentences he is forming. Some examples:
- Me sit wait Daddy.
- U ready go Daddy?
- Wed ebody go or eh go ebody.. (Where'd everybody go? or Let's go everybody?)
- Nice day
- Doin good
